This destination attracts both beginners and expert surfers, thanks to the variety of spots that suit all skill levels. Here is a guide to the best surfing spots in Famara and some tips to make the most of your experience.

1. The Papelillo

Location: Far right end of the beach, at the foot of Mount Risco.

Features: Tubular and fun wave, ideal at low to medium tide. It receives swells from the west, northwest and north. Sand bottom.

Level: Intermediate to advanced.

2. The Casualties

Location: Offshore breakwater.

Features: Large, powerful, tubular waves. They work at high and low tide, with west, northwest and north swells. Stone bottom.

Level: Advanced. It is recommended not to surf alone.

3. El Palo

Location: Central peak of the beach.

Features: It offers rights and lefts, suitable for all levels. Spacious and with little affluence, ideal also for kite surfing on windy days.

Level: All levels.

4. The Bunker

Location: Near the Bungalows area.

Characteristics: Constant waves with well-defined peaks. Calm and familiar environment. Sand bottom.

Level: Beginners and intermediate.

Location: In front of the lifeguard station.
